NTK functionary held for  defamatory cartoon on MK

The police on Wednesday arrested Veerabandi Kumaresan, a member of Nam Tamilar Party after he allegedly posted a defamatory cartoon against former Chief Minister and DMK patricah M Karunanidhi on social media. A complaint has also been registered against him for issuing death threats to DMK functionaries who questioned his controversial post.

The action was taken based on the complaint lodged by 56th ward of Karunkalpatti DMK Secretary Murugesan with the Chevvaipet police in this district.

During the investigation, it was revealed that he is Kumaresan (49) from Salem Dadagapatti and he is the former vice-president of South Constituency in Naam Tamil Party led by Seeman. Kumaresan owns an auto parts shop in Salem Town.
