TAGA Masayuki, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai handed over the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2023 to Malathi Pandurang, Director, Chennai Sogetsu Branch, which was announced in August by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. Malathi Pandurang was commended in recognition of her contribution to the promotion of Japanese culture in India through teaching and introducing Ikebana in Chennai and other parts of the country.

In the commendation ceremony held yesterday at the Consulate-General of Japan, Chennai, TAGA Masayuki, Consul-General praised the achievements of Malathi Pandurang, and expressed his respect for her contribution in promoting Ikebana and hope she would continue to play an important role in further strengthening Japan-India relations.
