Thrilling Alanganallur Jallikattu Concludes, Karthi Takes Top Honour After Taming 19 Bulls

The world-renowned Alanganallur Jallikattu, one of Tamil Nadu’s most iconic traditional bull-taming events, concluded with great fervour drawing thousands of spectators and competitors for the Pongal festival celebrations.
The day-long competition, which began early in the morning yesterday under bright skies, saw over 1,000 bulls released into the Alanganallur arena and nearly 600 bull tamers taking part in multiple rounds of spirited sport. The event was attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, along with Minister P. Moorthi and Madurai District Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar.
After intense rounds of competition, Karthi from Karuppayurani stood out as the best bull tamer of the day by successfully taming 19 bulls, earning him the first-place title and a car worth ₹8 lakh as the top prize.
