Security forces in Jammu & Kashmir detected multiple suspected Pakistani drones entering Indian airspace from across the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday evening, officials said. The sightings occurred in forward areas of Samba, Rajouri and Poonch districts, prompting immediate search operations on the ground.
According to officials, the unmanned aerial objects briefly hovered over Indian territory before retreating back across the border. In response, troops guarding the Nowshera sector in Rajouri fired medium and light machine guns after spotting drone movements around 6:35 pm. Similar drone activity was reported near Chak Babral in Samba and in the Mankote sector of Poonch.
Joint forces, including the Army and police, launched combing operations in the affected areas to check for any dropped contraband or suspicious material.
