CM to visit Kallakurichi Friday to inaugurate welfare schemes

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is scheduled to visit Kallakurichi district on Friday, December 26, to attend and preside over several public events and inaugurations, the state government announced on Wednesday.
According to the official programme, the Chief Minister will leave Chennai and arrive in Kallakurichi in the morning. Local DMK leaders and party workers are preparing to give him a warm welcome at Thiyagadurgam’s Thimmalai Road area, led by State Minister E.V. Velu along with MLAs and MPs.
At around 10.30 a.m., Mr. Stalin will inaugurate the newly built bus terminal in Kallakurichi town. This will be followed by an event at the Emapper roundabout, where he is expected to unveil the statue of the late former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, installed by DMK leaders.
The Chief Minister will also take part in a public welfare distribution programme, where around 70,000 beneficiaries are to receive government aid. Later, he will formally open the new Collectorate complex at Veeracholapuram, a large office building constructed on about 35 acres at an estimated cost of ₹139.41 crore.
