Tel Aviv, Sept 29: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is working with the US on a possible ceasefire in Gaza. He spoke to Fox News on Sunday before meeting President Donald Trump at the White House. Netanyahu said, “It’s not finalised yet, but we’re working with President Trump’s team, actually as we speak.”
The announcement comes as pressure grows on Israel to end the war in Gaza. The local health ministry says more than 66,000 people have died. About half of them are women and children.
A 21-point plan is being discussed. It calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages within 48 hours, and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops. Trump is expected to present the plan to Netanyahu on Monday.
The proposal is still being revised. Arab diplomats say it has been shared with regional leaders.
