Michigan,  Sept 29: A man carried out a violent attack at a Mormon church in Michigan on Sunday. He drove his vehicle through the church doors, opened fire with an assault rifle, and then set the building on fire. At least four people were killed and eight others were injured.

Police said the attacker was Thomas Jacob Sanford, 40, a former US Marine from Burton. He died in a gunfight with police. The church, located in Grand Blanc, about 50 miles from Detroit, was soon covered in flames and smoke.
