Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has proposed a bullet train service from Shamshabad, near Hyderabad, to Chennai. Shamshabad hosts the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, a key transport hub.

During a meeting with officials, the CM reviewed pending railway projects and discussed new proposals for future transport needs. He supported a railway line connecting the proposed ‘Bharat Future City’ near Hyderabad to Machilipatnam port in Andhra Pradesh via Amaravati.

Reddy also asked officials to prepare new railway line proposals and stressed the need for a ‘Regional Ring Rail’ around Hyderabad to complement the planned Regional Ring Road (RRR).
