Chennai:
Union Minister L. Murugan has criticised the Tamil Nadu government for not helping mango farmers who are struggling with poor sales and low demand.
He said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is trying to blame the central government instead of taking responsibility. Murugan added that pulp factories in the state are not buying mangoes, and this has affected farmers badly.
He praised Andhra Pradesh for working closely with the central government to support mango farmers. He said Tamil Nadu leaders failed to do the same.
Murugan accused the DMK government of ignoring farmers and focusing only on publicity. He also criticised Stalin for spending money on statue unveilings while farmers suffer.
He said a government that works like a family rule cannot understand the real problems of the people.
