To ease air traffic congestion and improve passenger flow during ongoing expansion work, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced a terminal shift for IndiGo Airlines’ ATR flights at Chennai Airport, effective from June 1. As part of this temporary arrangement, all IndiGo ATR flight departures will now operate from Terminal 4, instead of Terminal 1. This change affects several regional routes, including flights to Madurai, Tiruchy, Thoothukudi, Salem, Mysore, Mangalore, Vijayawada, Rajamahendravaram, and Kozhikode. However, there is no change to the arrival terminal for these flights — all ATR arrivals will continue at Terminal 1. The shift is aimed at supporting smoother operations and reducing congestion as Chennai Airport undergoes major development, especially the expansion of Terminal 3. Passengers are advised to check terminal details in advance and follow airport signages to avoid confusion.
