Israel calls for Turkey’s NATO expulsion

Jerusalem, July 30:  In a dramatic escalation of diplomatic tensions, Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz has formally requested NATO expel Turkey from the alliance. This move follows recent provocative statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who threatened military action against Israel. The Israeli foreign ministry stated that Katz has directed diplomats to urgently lobby NATO members for both a condemnation of Turkey’s rhetoric and its removal from the alliance.

Erdogan’s aggressive comments have heightened tensions between the two nations, already strained by longstanding geopolitical disputes. Israel’s appeal to NATO reflects its growing frustration and concerns over Turkey’s actions, which it perceives as not only threatening its national security but also undermining regional stability. This call for expulsion is likely to intensify the already volatile relations between Israel and Turkey, setting the stage for further diplomatic confrontations.
