Tamil Nadu Congress President K Selvaperunthagai, along with his party candidates, recently met Chief Minister M K Stalin to convey their gratitude for his extensive election campaign efforts. This gesture of appreciation was echoed by leaders of other alliance parties and ministers, who also thanked Stalin for his statewide campaign.Following the meeting, Selvaperunthagai addressed reporters, expressing confidence in the alliance’s prospects and stating that the next meeting with the Chief Minister would be convened after all candidates secure significant victories. The Congress contested in nine constituencies in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry as part of the INDIA bloc.
IUML President Kader Mohideen, who also met Stalin to convey his appreciation, lauded the DMK president’s campaign as “classic propaganda.” Mohideen emphasized the significance of the secular progressive alliance led by the DMK in Tamil Nadu, underscoring the impact of Stalin’s campaign efforts.
Reflecting on Stalin’s unprecedented campaign, Mohideen remarked on the historical nature of the Chief Minister’s extensive outreach, noting that such efforts had not been witnessed in the past six decades. He credited Stalin’s campaign for not only ensuring victory for the alliance in Tamil Nadu but also for potentially catalyzing broader changes across the country.
Stalin’s campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections commenced in Trichy on March 22 and concluded in Chennai on April 17. Spanning 20 days, the campaign saw Stalin tirelessly covering two constituencies per day.
