Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took out a mega road show in Chennai ahead of the April 19 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu.

Accompanied by BJP state president K Annamalai and BJP candidates for South Chennai, Central Chennai, and North Chennai segments, the Prime Minister led the well-attended procession in the city’s T Nagar locality.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), PM Modi said “Chennai has won me over!”.

“Today’s roadshow in this dynamic city will remain a part of my memory forever. The blessings of the people give me strength to keep working hard in your service and to make our nation even more developed. The enthusiasm in Chennai also shows that Tamil Nadu is all set to support NDA in a big way, he wrote.

Sporting a traditional white shirt paired with ‘veshti’ (dhoti) and ‘angavastram’ (shawl), PM Modi stood atop a adorned car, waving fervently at the throngs of supporters lining the streets.

Holding a miniature cutout of the BJP’s symbol, the Lotus, PM Modi exuded energy and charisma throughout the 2 km journey from Panagal Park to Teynampet, lasting approximately 45 minutes.

Supporters cheered him on, chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Modi, Modi,” while displaying placards endorsing the BJP and its leader.
