The official vehicle of Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) Mayor R Priya was involved in a collision near Poonamalle on Friday evening. The incident occurred when the Mayor was returning from Vellore after attending a DMK election manifesto meeting.

According to reports, the accident took place in Sennerkuppam, near Poonamalle, when a truck collided with the Mayor’s car from behind. The Mayor, fortunately, emerged unscathed from the ordeal, sustaining no injuries. However, her driver sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Police investigations revealed that the collision occurred due to a sudden turn made by a car in front of the Mayor’s vehicle, causing a rapid slowdown in speed. This abrupt maneuver led to the truck behind the Mayor’s SUV (TN 04 BL001) colliding with her vehicle.
