Chennai: Nearly 6,750 persons have been tested positive of Coronavirus in Chennai.
Since the lockdown, Royapuram has recorded as many as 1,185 cases and continues to have the highest number of positive patients. Inching closer to this mark is Kodambakkam, which has 1041 positive cases.
According to a press release from the Greater Chennai Corporation today, the area-wise break up of 15 districts says that Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, another hotspot, has nearly 790 persons testing positive for the infection. The release said that, Teynampet has 746 persons with the virus.
Tondiarpet in north Chennai is yet another locality where the virus has been spreading fast. The data says, 581 cases are here. Anna Nagar has 554 persons with the virus.
Day by day, the cases in Valsaravakkam has been steadily rising. Currently, there are 522 cases of Covid-19. Yesterday there were 494 cases here. Adyar has 367 patient contracting the illness. Another neighbourhood Ambattur has as many as 317 persons testing positive. Thiruvottiyur has a total of 147 active Covid-19 cases.
Madhavaram has 121 cases. Till yesterday, it was in the double digit mark. Alandur has 80 coronavirus cases, Manali has 86 cases, Perungudi has 86 cases and Shollinganallur has 95 patients.
