Chennai: The State police have arrested 4,54,016 persons for violating norms of the lockdown.

The police have recorded as many as 4,28,015 violations and have registered FIRs against those flouting the rules.

The police have seized 3,75,792 vehicles including auto rickshaws, two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

Cases have been registered for stepping out of houses for non-essential purposes. An amount of Rs 4,91,79,379 has been collected as fine.
