Missing furniture from AP Assembly found in Ex-Speaker son’s showroom

Officials of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature and police department on Monday night started retrieving furniture belonging to the Legislature in possession of former Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, police said. The furniture was allegedly being used by Kodela’s son in his two-wheeler showroom at Guntur.   

TN Govt honours Dr Baala Ramani with Kalaimamani Award

Dr Baala Ramani (61), a longtime resident of Thirumangalam, Anna Nagar West Extension, was presented Kalaimamani award for the year 2013. The highest award being given by Government of Tamilnadu, was presented to Baala Ramani by the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami recently at a function.

Author Daisy Maran urges TN govt to declare ‘Thirukkural’ as National Book

Palavakkam resident and author Daisy Maran, along with other popular authors and Tamil scholars, met Minister for Tamil Official Language and Tamil Culture, K Pandiarajan, on 19 August and submitted a petition, urging the government to declare ‘Thirukkural’, authored by Thiruvalluvar, as a National Book.
