Union min Ravi Shankar Prasad offers prayers to Athi Varadhar

Chennai: Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Law and Justice, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, accompanied by the party’s Tamilnadu unit President Tamilisai Soundararajan and other BJP members visited Sri Devarajaswamy temple and offered prayers to Lord Athi Varadar.

Pictures of the Union Minister offering prayers was shared by Soundararajan on Twitter. Lakhs of devotees have been thronging the temple since July 1 to offer prayers to the deity.

The 10-feet long idol of Lord Athi Varadar is kept at the Vasantha Mandapam for 48 days for darshan. Lakhs of devotees throng the shrine to offer their prayers in the once-in-a-lifetime experience. The darshan began from 1 July.

The BJP leader kick-start BJP’s membership drive in the State and also held meetings with officials of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology departments.
