Coimbatore: As part of investigation in the Pollachi sexual harassment case, CBI officials visited the house of an accused Sabarirajan yesterday.
Sabarirajan was among the five people arrested in the case. Two Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers visited the house of the accused and questioned his parents.
The incident in which the gang had tried to strip a 19-year-old college girl in February received nation-wide condemnation. Not just this incident, the gang was believed to have sexually harassed and blackmailed a several women in Pollachi over a period of time.
Based on a complaint lodged by the accused, five men have so far been arrested. The State government first transferred the case to the CB-CID police and later to the CBI.
The case also assumed political overtones after a local AIADMK worker allegedly attacked the victim’s brother for lodging the complaint. He was later expelled from the party.
