Chennai: The police here have registered a case against May 17 Movement founder Thirumurugan Gandhi for speaking against the Central government.

While observing the 10th anniversary of Mullivaikkal (the last war in the civil strife in Sri Lanka when the LTTE was decimated) at Mambalam 18 May, Thirumurugan is said to have criticised the Central government and breached rules.

Since the public meeting took place at Mambalam, the T Nagar police have taken cognisance of the matter and registered cases under two sections against the Tamil activist.
