9 killed as truck rams into marriage procession in Rajasthan

Nine people, including four children, were killed in Pratapgarh district, Rajasthan, when a speeding truck mowed down a marriage procession yesterday. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed condolences with the families of those killed in the accident. 

Curfew relaxed for two hours in parts of Jammu

Ramesh Kumar, District Magistrate of Jammu today ordered the relaxation of curfew for two hours in the jurisdiction of three police station Nawabad, Jammu city and Peer Mitha from 11.30 am to 01.30 pm. The rest of the city continued to remain in force as it had witnessed massive protests in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack. 

Irom Sharmila accuses Centre of disregarding people’s sentiments

Manipur human rights activist Irom Chanu Sharmila has criticized the NDA government, accusing it of disregarding people’s sentiments when making policy decisions. Democracy exists in the country “only in name” under the current dispensation, she said, urging people to vote for bringing about a change in the country.

Money laundering case: Vadra skips ED summons, cites bad health

Robert Vadra’s lawyers informed the investigating officer of the money laundering case that he would not be appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today citing bad health. He is said to appear either on Wednesday or on a mutually acceptable date later this week.
