NCVET holds capacity building workshop in Chennai

The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, held a Capacity Building and Awareness Workshop for South India at the Chennai Metro Rail Auditorium.
The workshop brought together stakeholders from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep. The aim was to raise awareness about NCVET’s efforts to strengthen vocational education and training (VET) in the region.
Sessions covered state-level skilling initiatives, NCVET’s regulatory role, standards and quality assurance, and the integration of future skills like Artificial Intelligence and Green Hydrogen. Participants also learned about the functioning of Awarding Bodies and Assessment Agencies, and ways to mainstream vocational education in schools and colleges.
Dignitaries from NCVET, the Ministry of Skill Development, and Union and State Governments attended, providing guidance and vision for improving the VET ecosystem.
