Rockwool’s new manufacturing facility in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, is under full construction and is expected to begin operations in the second quarter of 2026.
The Cheyyar plant, with an investment of Rs. 550 crore, will be larger than the company’s Gujarat facility. It will create over 150 direct jobs and many indirect opportunities for local suppliers and service providers.
The plant will produce stone wool insulation for buildings, industrial use, and sandwich panels. These products are non-combustible, recyclable, and long-lasting, supporting energy efficiency, fire safety, and acoustic comfort.
The facility will have an annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes, making it Rockwool’s most advanced site in India. Company officials said the project reflects their commitment to India and sustainable growth, while also benefiting local communities.
