VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan has questioned actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay for not speaking out against derogatory remarks made about Dravidian leaders Periyar and C.N. Annadurai.

The remarks were shown in a video during the Murugan Maanadu event held by the Hindu Munnani in Madurai. The video reportedly insulted Periyar and Anna and spoke of ending the Dravidian movement to create a “Divine Tamil Nadu.”

Thirumavalavan said Vijay, who claims to follow Periyar’s ideology, should have condemned the disrespect shown to these leaders. He asked why Vijay was silent and said it raises doubts about his stand on Dravidian values.

He also criticised AIADMK leaders who attended the event and did not object to the video. He said their silence was shameful and urged them to openly condemn the remarks.

Thirumavalavan warned that the BJP is trying to destroy Dravidian politics and absorb the AIADMK. He pointed out that BJP’s Tamil Nadu chief Nainar Nagendran was once an AIADMK member, showing how the party is changing.

He also compared Vijay’s silence to actor Kamal Haasan, who once distanced himself from Dravidian politics but later joined the DMK alliance to oppose BJP and Hindutva forces.

Thirumavalavan said that Vijay should clearly state where he stands on such important issues.
