The famous Subramania Swamy Temple in Thiruchendur, Tamil Nadu, will hold its Kumbabishekam (consecration ceremony) on July 7, after a gap of 12 years. The main ritual, where holy water is poured on the temple’s towers (kalasams), will take place between 6:15 AM and 6:50 AM.
Earlier, on June 6, consecration was done for the smaller shrines in the temple.
The date was decided by a five-member expert panel, formed by the Madras High Court. The panel included religious scholar Sivarama Subramaniya Sasthrigal and other spiritual leaders.
The Supreme Court refused to interfere in the matter, allowing the High Court’s decision to stand.
Many devotees from across India are expected to attend this important religious event, which is a major spiritual occasion in Tamil Nadu.
