India has strongly reacted to Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir’s comment calling Kashmir Pakistan’s “jugular vein.” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) dismissed the statement, calling it baseless.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Kashmir is a Union Territory of India. How can anything foreign be in their jugular vein?” He added that Pakistan’s only link with Kashmir is to vacate the areas it illegally occupies.
Munir made the remark in a viral video, also referring to the ‘Two-Nation Theory’. India firmly rejected his comments, calling for respect for its sovereignty.
