India’s defence production is expected to exceed Rs 1.60 lakh crore this year, with a target of reaching Rs 3 lakh crore by 2029, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said at the Defence Conclave 2025.

He emphasized reducing reliance on imports and building a strong defence industrial ecosystem to boost both domestic capability and exports. “India will not only become a developed nation but also emerge as the world’s top military power,” he asserted.

The government aims to make India a hub for advanced military technology, supporting innovation and self-reliance in the sector.
