In a proactive move to address the concerns of the people, Chief Minister MK Stalin has unveiled the ‘Ungalai Thedi, Ungal Ooril’ scheme, set to be implemented from December onwards. The initiative aims to streamline the resolution of public issues by fostering direct interaction between district collectors and the residents of various taluks. Building upon the foundation of the ‘Kalathil Mudhalvar’ scheme, designed to ensure the effective implementation of government programs, Chief Minister Stalin emphasized the pivotal role district collectors play in being a beacon of hope for the people. He highlighted that citizens often approach collectors with their grievances, considering them as a source of resolution. Under this newly launched scheme, district collectors are mandated to spend a day each month in one of the taluks within their respective districts. This hands-on approach is envisioned to bring the government closer to the grassroots level, ensuring that schemes are not only efficiently implemented but also responsive to the diverse needs of the local population. In a statement, Chief Minister Stalin conveyed his expectations for the district collectors to actively engage with the community, providing on-the-spot solutions to issues and promptly addressing concerns. This directive is seen as the logical progression from the ‘Kalathil Mudhalvar’ scheme, reflecting the government’s commitment to fostering a more accessible and responsive administration. The ‘Ungalai Thedi, Ungal Ooril’ initiative is poised to strengthen the bond between the government and the people, marking a significant step towards participatory governance. By encouraging district collectors to be physically present in taluks, the government aims to establish a more direct and efficient channel for addressing the needs of the citizens.
