CMDA holds meet on population projection for city

A meeting was held at CMDA with the key stakeholders to discuss the Population Projections for the erstwhile Chennai Metropolitan Area (1189 sq km) and expanded CMA (5904 sq km). Sajjan Singh R Chavan, Director of Census Operations (DCO)/Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, representatives from the Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (CUMTA), and delegates from the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) and Madras School of Social works (MSW), attended this crucial meeting. Consultants Lea Associates for South Asia and Systra India presented their population projection findings for CMA. This comprehensive discussion brought together experts and decision-makers, paving the way for a thorough examination of the region’s demographic trends and growth prospects.
