Kumbakonam: JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister of India H D Deve Gowda visited the Sarangapaniswamy temple and offered prayers yesterday. He was accompanied by his son and Karnataka PWD Minister H D Revanna.

A press release said the temple authorities gave them a warm reception. When asked about the release of Cauvery water for Tamilnadu, Revanna said only if it rained water can flow and there was no water in the dams in Karnataka.

Earlier when the former prime minister was asked about the exit poll results predicting that BJP would get a majority, Gowda chose to keep silent.
