Actor-politician Vijay has announced the formation of a key election manifesto preparation committee for his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), as the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections draw closer.

The move is part of TVK’s broader strategy to shape its electoral agenda and lay out a comprehensive roadmap for the state’s development.

In an official statement, Vijay said the committee will consult extensively with diverse sections of society — including small and micro business groups, labour unions, economic and professional experts, chambers of commerce, employee associations, agricultural bodies, educators, healthcare professionals, women’s organisations and youth groups — to collect a wide range of perspectives and data. These inputs will be used to draft the party’s election manifesto, aimed at advancing the progress and overall development of Tamil Nadu.

The manifesto committee, chaired by Arun Raj, includes several prominent party members such as Prabhakar, Rajmohan, Mayuri, Sampath Kumar, Arul Prakasam, Vijay R., Parani Balaji, Muhammad Parvez, Prabu and Kristi Pruthvi, among others. TVK leadership has emphasised that the group will engage with stakeholders across the state and gather relevant feedback, which will help shape policies tailored to public needs.

This development follows TVK’s earlier organisational moves as it ramps up its political activities ahead of next year’s election, with committees also focused on alliance talks and other election preparations.
