AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday hit out at the ruling DMK government over a shocking knife attack on a migrant worker from Madhya Pradesh, allegedly carried out by four 17-year-olds under the influence of drugs while attempting to record social-media reels.
The incident took place on a train near Tiruttani, where the youths reportedly assaulted the victim with a knife, leaving him seriously injured. Police later arrested all four minors and initiated further investigation.
Condemning the incident, Palaniswami said the episode exposed a “serious breakdown in law and order” under Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s administration and reflected the alarming spread of narcotic abuse among minors.
He demanded tough measures to curb drug circulation, stronger policing, and swift justice to restore public confidence.
The incident has stirred widespread concern and renewed political debate over safety, youth crime and the State’s response to the growing drug menace.
