Social workers honoured in Chennai

The Wisdom Arima Sangam organised an awards ceremony in T. Nagar to honour individuals who have made remarkable contributions in the field of social service, particularly in supporting persons with disabilities.
Among the key awardees were Sai Sankara Panchapakesan, Chairman of Sai Thunai Matrimonials, and K. Gopinath, State General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Udhavikkaram Welfare Association for Persons with Disabilities. In recognition of their outstanding efforts and continued service to the differently-abled community, they were conferred with the prestigious “Madhippumigu Sevaiyalar Award.”
Former Judge of the Madras High Court Justice T. N. Vallinayagam and D. Kalpana Nayak, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Trafficking), presented the awards to the recipients. As part of the programme, welfare assistance for persons with disabilities was also distributed, reinforcing the Sangam’s commitment to social upliftment and inclusion.
The event was attended by former District Governor Ko. Manilal, Sangam Founder M. Murugan, award recipients, and distinguished guests from various sectors. The ceremony celebrated selfless service and encouraged continued efforts toward empowering differently-abled individuals and promoting social responsibility.
