Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced that new LED-backlit LCD route guidance screens will be installed in all 52 Phase-1 Metro trains to improve passenger comfort and travel experience.These digital screens will display real-time travel details, including the current route, upcoming stations, nearby landmarks, train speed and the temperature inside the coach. They will also provide information about platform changes, interchange stations and connecting services, helping commuters plan their journey better.
According to CMRL officials, the new system will be especially useful during peak hours. It is expected to reduce confusion, improve passenger movement inside crowded trains and make communication easier.
The initiative is part of Chennai Metro’s efforts to make public transport smarter, safer and more commuter-friendly for the people of the city.
