Dubai, Dec 24: India all‑rounder Deepti Sharma has reached the top of the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings for the first time in her career, following her impressive performance in the opening match of the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka at Visakhapatnam. 

Deepti’s economical spell of 1 for 20 in four overs in India’s eight‑wicket win earned her valuable rating points, allowing her to surpass Australia’s Annabel Sutherland by a narrow margin at the summit of the T20I bowling charts. 

Her rise to the top spot underscores her consistency and impact with the ball for India in the shortest format, adding a significant personal milestone to her already decorated career. 

The latest ICC rankings update also saw movement for other Indian players. Jemimah Rodrigues climbed into the top 10 in the T20I batting list after a strong performance, while fellow Indian bowlers gained ground in the broader rankings. 

In the women’s ODI rankings, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt reclaimed the No. 1 spot in batting, edging past Smriti Mandhana following her dominant performances in Ireland.
