The Tamil Nadu Government has announced that monthly Public Distribution System (PDS) grievance redressal camps will be conducted in every taluk to ensure citizens can easily access essential services and resolve issues related to ration cards and PDS benefits. These camps aim to make the PDS more transparent and responsive to public needs.
For December 2025, the PDS grievance redressal camp in Chennai will be held on 13 December 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at all 19 Zonal Assistant Commissioner Offices of the Department of Food Supply and Consumer Protection. Residents are encouraged to participate and take advantage of the services provided.
Citizens attending the camps can avail themselves of various services, including adding or deleting names on family ration cards, changing addresses, registering or updating mobile numbers, issuing authorization certificates for senior citizens or persons unable to visit fair price shops, and assistance for doorstep delivery eligibility.
Officials will also address complaints related to the functioning of fair price shops, issues with commodities supplied, deficiencies in products or services sold in private markets, and any other grievances linked to PDS operations. All complaints registered during the camp will be processed promptly, and appropriate actions will be taken to ensure timely resolution.
The initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve access to essential services, enhance accountability, and make the PDS system more citizen-friendly. Residents holding family ration cards in the 19 zones of Chennai are urged to participate in the camp and make use of the facilities provided.
