Tamil Nadu Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Minister E. Periyasamy stated that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will decide on providing Rs 5,000 per ration card holder for the Pongal festival, responding to AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s demand.
Inaugurating new ration shops in Athur constituency, Dindigul district, Periyasamy highlighted unprecedented rural funding under DMK, constructing 22,000 km of village roads, 2 lakh new houses, and 25,000 replacements plus Rs 2,000 crore renovations for old homes neglected for 20 years by AIADMK. He mocked AIADMK’s claim of winning 210 seats, saying alliance partners would claim most, leaving them just 24.
Periyasamy praised Stalin’s flawless governance and timely announcements, denying election-driven motives for laptops or property rights aid for widows, assuring eligible women will receive support as funds seek them out.
