Mumbai, Dec 12: India’s aviation regulator, the DGCA, has started watching IndiGo airline’s work closely from the company’s headquarters after the airline cancelled many flights. Officials are checking how flights are run, how refunds are given, and how passengers are treated.The DGCA sent officers to the airline office in Gurugram to make daily reports on cancellations, crew duty, refunds, and on-time performance. The regulator has also asked the IndiGo CEO, Pieter Elbers, to explain what happened and give full information about the problems.
IndiGo had to cancel thousands of flights recently after it did not plan well for new pilot and crew duty rules. The DGCA will also inspect the airline’s services at about 11 airports over the next few days.
