Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will provide monthly financial support of ₹1,000 to 17 lakh new women beneficiaries under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme. The scheme gives ₹1,000 every month directly to heads of eligible families to help with household expenses. With this latest expansion, about 1.34 crore women will now receive the benefit.
Stalin will launch the offer at a special public event. The payments to the new beneficiaries will be credited to their bank accounts on 15th December as usual.
The state government started this program after it was promised during elections, and it has been running since September 2023 to support women across Tamil Nadu.
