Modi felicitates Indian women’s cricket team

New Delhi, Nov 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly greeted the Indian women’s cricket team, at his residence in New Delhi. 
The team, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, had made history by winning the Women’s Cricket World Cup for the first time. India won the final against South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling match held in Navi Mumbai.
The Prime Minister spent a couple of hours with the champions, congratulating them for their outstanding achievement.India’s victory was special as it ended decades of near-misses in women’s cricket.
Harmanpreet’s leadership and the team’s strong performance, including key contributions from players like Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma, made the win possible. This historic moment has inspired millions and marked a new era for Indian women’s cricket.
