In a disturbing incident in Coimbatore, a college student was sexually assaulted by three young men after being abducted from behind the airport area, while she was conversing with friends.

Following the assault, the perpetrators threw the victim behind a private college and fled the scene.The victim was rescued early today by police and is currently receiving medical treatment at a private hospital.

Authorities from Peelamedu police have registered a case and launched an intensive search for the three suspects.The search intensified with the help of surveillance footage from the crime area.

During a police operation near Thudiyalur, the three accused—identified as Guna Thavasi, Sathees, and Karthik Kaliswaran—attempted to escape by attacking police. The police responded by shooting them in the legs and successfully apprehended all three.

The police confirmed that the suspects were shot in the legs as they tried to flee, securing their arrest.
