The Alandur–Guindy Asarkana bus stop in Chennai is being renovated under the MLA Constituency Fund at a cost of ₹1.5 crore. The upgraded facility will include air-conditioned seating, LED lighting, and separate toilets for men and women. The earlier shelter, built in 2015 at a cost of ₹1.25 crore, had fallen into disrepair, causing inconvenience to women, elderly, and pregnant commuters. The new 180-foot-long modern bus shelter aims to offer a cleaner and more comfortable waiting space. According to Highways Department officials, the renovation work will be completed within four months, after which the facility will be opened to the public.
