Islamabad, Sept 17: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has admitted that India has never agreed to third-party mediation on issues between the two countries. His statement goes against former US President Donald Trump’s earlier claim that he had helped broker a ceasefire after Operation Sindoor.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Dar said, “India never agreed to any third-party mediation.” He noted that Pakistan is open to talks, but India has not replied to its offers.
When asked about possible talks, Dar explained, “We don’t mind third-party involvement. But India has always said it is a bilateral issue. We are fine with bilateral talks too, but they must cover all subjects — terrorism, trade, economy, and Jammu and Kashmir.
