Dubai, Sept 16: India has secured a place in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2025 after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) defeated Oman by 42 runs in their Group A match on Monday. This result confirmed India’s progression to the next stage of the tournament.In the match, UAE captain Muhammad Waseem played a crucial innings, scoring 69 runs off 54 balls. His steady performance, supported by opener Sharafu, who made 51 off 38 balls, helped UAE set a competitive total of 172 for five.
Oman struggled to chase the target and were bowled out for 130 in just 18.4 overs. Early wickets by Siddique and two key dismissals by left-arm spinner Haider Ali, who took 2 for 22, left Oman in trouble, reducing them to 50 for five in the seventh over.
With India having already defeated both Pakistan and UAE comfortably, they are now confirmed in the Super 4 stage. Led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, India will next face Oman in their final group match on September 19 in Abu Dhabi.
The Super 4 stage will feature the top two teams from each group, and India aims to continue its strong form as it moves closer to the final. Fans can look forward to more competitive matches as the tournament progresses.
