Following the Supreme Court’s ultimatum on clearing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for in-service teachers, more than 47,000 teachers applied for the test on the last day, Monday.

Due to the huge rush and complaints of network issues from candidates, the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has extended the deadline to Sept 10. The TET exam will be conducted on Nov 15 and 16.
Aspirants complained that they were not able to complete the submission and pay fees due to network issues. “The payment gateways were very slow,” an aspirant from the city said.
Teachers said the rush was mainly due to the Supreme Court’s order asking all in-service teachers, except those who have less than five years of service, to clear TET to continue as teachers.
