Kollywood is seeing a strong run of content-driven films. Joining this list is Thanal, starring Atharvaa Murali. The film is directed by Ravindra Madhava and produced by M. John Peter under Annai Film Production. It will release worldwide on September 12.

Atharvaa’s recent hit DNA has raised expectations for Thanal. Fans are eager to see him in another powerful role.

Director Ravindra Madhava says, “Thanal will be an emotional tug of war with action and many twists. It is about two men, both strong in their beliefs, who refuse to give up. One is an ex-army man seeking revenge after years of pain. The other is a police constable with a troubled past, now living as a dutiful son.”

On casting, he explains, “The lead needed innocence as well as fury. Atharvaa was the best choice. For the ex-army role, I chose Ashwin Kakamanu. His performance will be a highlight.”

Lavanya Tripathi plays the female lead. The supporting cast includes Sha Ra, Bhaarath, Lakshmi Priya, and Azhagam Perumal.

The technical team features Justin Prabhakaran for music, Sakthi Saravanan for cinematography, Kalaivannan R for editing, Karthik Netha for lyrics, Hari Kiran for choreography, S. Ayyapan for art, and R. Sakthi Saravanan for stunts.
