The Madras Quiz 2025, conducted by quizmaster Dr. Sumanth C. Raman, was held at the MMA Auditorium on Pathari Road, off Anna Salai. The event was presented by the Murugappa Group as part of the Madras Week celebrations and saw participation from 125 teams across Chennai.

R. Shantaram and N. Ramaswamy won the first prize, receiving the rolling trophy and gift vouchers worth ₹15,000. Jayakanthan and Kartik Ramadas came second, winning vouchers worth ₹10,000, while N. Rajaram and G. Sundar placed third, earning vouchers worth ₹8,000. Trophies for the top two teams were sponsored by Chola MS.

The Chief Guest, Sridharan Rangarajan, Managing Director of CUMI, congratulated the winners and praised the participants for celebrating the city’s heritage through the quiz.

Special prizes were given to:

Best Senior Citizens’ Team: K. Suresh and K. Murali

Best School Students’ Team: Harshad R. and Mithilesh S.

Best Team Name: D. Mitthilesh and Srivats Gopal

Spot prizes were also distributed to audience members, keeping the event lively.

The theme of this year’s quiz was “Idhu Oru Thani Vibe,” celebrating Chennai’s unique spirit. New quiz rounds, including one featuring AI-generated visuals, added variety to the competition.
