Tamil cinema is buzzing with reports that director Lokesh Kanagaraj is planning to bring legends Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth together for his next film. If confirmed, it would be their first collaboration since the 1979 film Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum.

Sources say Lokesh had previously narrated the story to both actors, and production houses RKFI and Sun Pictures are in talks to produce the project. Actor Karthi, who was scheduled to star in Kaithi 2, may postpone that film to accommodate this new venture. Lokesh has stated that he is willing to direct the film if both Haasan and Rajinikanth agree to collaborate.

This announcement follows the massive success of Coolie, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s recent film with Rajinikanth, which has become the highest-grossing Tamil film at the global box office, earning over ₹404 crore in its opening days. Fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation of this high-profile collaboration.
