AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticized the DMK government at a public meeting in Gudiyatham, Tamil Nadu. He alleged that prices have “skyrocketed” under the current administration, and that the government has failed to control inflation.
Palaniswami stated that during his party’s rule, they would purchase goods from low-cost sources to keep prices in check. He also mentioned that the AIADMK government had implemented various welfare schemes, such as a 7.5% internal reservation for government school students to pursue medical studies, which benefited over 2,800 students.
He accused the DMK of borrowing ₹5.38 lakh crore in five years and not implementing any new projects, while revenue from TASMAC and stamp duty increased. Palaniswami also claimed that the DMK’s promise of providing a “right to earn” scheme was a result of pressure from the AIADMK and the upcoming elections, not genuine concern for the public.
He further criticized the DMK, calling it a “corporate company” and “dynastic politics.” He urged the public to vote for the AIADMK in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections to put an end to dynastic politics.
