Chennai, Aug 9:
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in Chennai has reaffirmed Taiwan’s commitment to educational collaboration with Tamil Nadu, offering fully funded scholarships to top universities in Taiwan.
At a felicitation ceremony honoring 901 government school students who secured admission to premier institutions like IIT Gandhinagar, TECC Director General Stephen S.C. Hsu praised the achievers as “young ambassadors of a new era.” He expressed pride in being the only consular mission invited to the event, calling it a reflection of growing trust between Taiwan and Tamil Nadu.
The ceremony, attended by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Deputy CM M.K. Udhayanidhi Stalin, and senior ministers, also saw the launch of the state’s new education policy.
DG Hsu pledged continued support for academic exchanges, saying such partnerships would inspire future generations in both regions.
